While looking at log home construction in Idaho we saw some siding that was referred to as “Buffalo Board”. I am trying to describe buffalo board to a builder who isn’t familiar with it. I tried to describe it to him as a thick slabbed wood siding with bark left on one edge.
any other thoughts?
THANKS!

A must read.
Giddy up!! That's it. Put some medium or dark stain on it for impressive siding with character.
I appreciate the response.
Thanks!
I think if you had asked about "Beaver Board" you would get more responses
But beaver board is something else entirely -- a type of fiberboard sheathing.

"Beaver Board" is when you're considering playing for the other team . . .

I've always heard it called Adirondack siding, but maybe that's a regional thing
Also around here the amish mill it,never heard of another way to get it, so you have to have them make in decent weather (not dec through feb. even they think that weather sucks) and let it dry on stickers for a few months or more
