Hello to all,
I would like some advice. I am going to fill a couple areas that are under sloped rooflines in the master bedroom with cabinets. These cabinets will function like dresser drawers or built ins.
I’m looking for advice on best overall cabinets and best value cabinets that would do the job.
I’m figuring I’d go with 4 units that are 24″wide and 24″deep. Two units will be ganged together as both openings are some 51-53″ wide.
I would like each unit to have three drawers with full extentions for placement of clothing. The sides would not be visible as they would be covered with filler strips.
Also advice for the counter top would also be helpful.
Thanks in advance, KaiserRoo

I can't suggest any particular brands, but I will say you should go higher end for durability sake. Packing clothing is drawers is a lot more stress than typical kitchen applications. Also, I think it's save to assume they will be opened and closed a lot more.
To be honest, you're probably better off custom building something. Prefab cabinets are well suited for kitchens, but the narrow drawers don't work real well for clothing and such. Wider drawers will fit a lot more overall. But if prefabs are your only viable option, spend the money on good quality, well constructed ones.

I agree with your input and would like to get the better quality as we have invested a lot of time and energy in the master bedroom as well as the rest of the upstairs. I'm curently checking out a Yorktowne cabinetry catalog.
Thanks again, KaiserRoo

Looks like a good selection, definately quality stuff. It might be worth your while to drop them a line asking about your specific needs. I'm sure they could custom build cabinets to your exact specs. --------------------------------------------------------

I built some drawers into the same kind of space you are talking about. there was no room for a counter top
I would go that route if I had a roof line line you would have in a trditional cape, but we have a gambrel so the roof line gives more room up and down. I think its some 34" deep but I'd have to check again.
