Are clipped head nails allowed in Calif, more specificaly the City of Los Angeles. These would be used for walling off a extra door in the garage, reframing a shower stall and maybe a exterior housing for a hot water heater.

I dont think so, see 'hitachi framing gun', we have been talking about it all week. You can call your local code office to verify.

I thought I read in an old FHB back around Sept. 03, that the UBC was banning clipped heads as of Jan. 04, and that only existing stock could be moved. I know the info was from FHB, I just can't recall the details.
I drove out to California back in '93 from Boston with my Paslode framer never thinking I wouldn't be able to get nails there. No one anywhere had clipped head nails, illegal in CA they told me back then.
