Gene, you can't do much better than that.
Without knowing too much about your window or wall loads, it's hard to criticize or improve on.
Personally, I wouldn't get too concerned with the loading on most wing walls. Consequently, I typically just run the joist on 16" layout and if I feel a need, based on my "field" observations, I toss in some "extra" blocking or the "extra" joist that you show on your drawings. For the most part though, I don't usually "need" them and consequently don't put them in.
Of course, we also might be on the opposite end of the spectrum when it comes to "saving" wood.
