Hi guys,
In frequenting the stores, lumber yards, and supply houses, I occasionally run across deals. Last week I posted about cheap sawbosses. Friday, in the mail I got a catalog from Gemplers. They have a good deal on Carhartt active jacs, for $39.95. Colors: brown, black, red, navy, and olive green.
Check them out at www.gemplers.com. Or 1.800.382.8473
Also, my Sears is clearancing portercable 690 routers for 113.00 dollars.
Was in my Dewalt service center today, and They had a ton of stuff for dirt cheap. Sds bits #2 phillips bits, auger bits. I bought a handful of 5/32, and3/16 sds bits for about 1.50 each.
Just thought I would pass it along.

Here's a deal worth mentioning. Just a few months ago, I bought a Anniversary Special tool set from Sears. It consisted of a 19.2 volt cordless drill, a 19.2 volt 5 inch cordless circular saw, and a large flashlight that operated off of the 19.2 volt batteries. And, of course a quick charge battery charger. All tools came packed inside a big, grey colored case. All tools were grey and marked as Crafstman anniversary specials. (Sears was running a special on red colored tools too, but they were inferior to the grey colored ones.)
Total cost before sales tax was $155.00
I've been using these tools everyday and they work really well. The Craftsman drill is every bit as good as my Hilti. Very good torque, and holds a decent charge If I didn't know better, I'd say this drill is actually a Porter Cable with the Sears logo...perhaps it is.It's 2 speed, variable trigger, 20 (?) clutch settings, keyless chuck, etc. etc.
The saw is identical in design and performance to the original DeWalt cordless saw ( our shop had 2 of these) which used to cost nearly $250 alone. The only difference between this and the DeWalt is the color; everything else(motor, saw blade, arbor size, guides, toe plate) is the same
The flashlight has a swivel lens which allows the light beam to be aimed practically anywhere; while it sits rock steady on the floor. The light has been great in attic wiring jobs so far.
Anyway, just a couple of weeks ago, my buddy was using these tools and was so impressed that he went to Sears and they still had the set for sale at the $155 price...so he bought a set for him too. At this price, it's like buying one tool at cost and getting the other 2 for free.
All of these tools ( including the flashlight) have been dropped several times ( I don't baby tools at jobsites) and they still perform just like new.
Something to check into.
