We’re in escrow, selling our Hollywood place to a guy in the loan business. He’s getting us a loan to buy the new place, while we carry the paper on the old one for him for a year. He’ll turn the old place back into four rental units during that time, and pay us off in full, so we can pay the new one off in full, at the end of a year.
This is more complicated than anything I’ve ever done before, so I’m wondering if I ought to run it by a real estate lawyer. If so, any recommendations in the LA area?
