I would like to insulate the ceiling of the Breezeway between my house and my garage but am having trouble with the air flow issue. The roof rafters are 2×6 and there is no soffit as the facia is nailed directly to the solid block walls. The house was built about 1945 in the Tudor style. Should I use a ridge vent and if so where will the air come from? If anyone has a solution I would be most appreciative.

can u take off the fascia and extend the rafter and create a continuously vented soffit connected to a Shingle VentII ridge vent?
