Caulking acrylic shower surrounds

During my stint as project manager for a kitchen and bath remodeling outfit, it was my job to address any service issues. During that period, I must have pulled off miles of silicone caulking that failed to adhere to acrylic tubs and shower surrounds.
And I mean total failure. In one instance, I pulled off the silicone in the form of an unbroken, perfectly formed “gasket” around the tub. Yikes.
Anyways, we switched to using Mono Ultra, which says right on the tube: “Excellent adhesion to blah blah, acrylic, blah blah.” No more callbacks, which is good, but I’m left wondering what everyone else is using. Mono Ultra is not a nice product to spread and use.
Incidentally, I experienced this exact failure in my own house, which was frustrating. Whoever installed the acrylic tub used silicone, which didn’t stick at all.

Lexel is good, tooling not real easy.
Polyseamseal isn't bad-easy running and tooling.

I use tub and sink siloconized acrylic caulk. It cleans up with water. Anyone using silicone is way off base.
Also, I think caulking is supposed to be replacable. So a permanent solution isn't really what is desired.
