raise your price.. there is probably nothing wrong with your production rate
you are probably basing your pricing on what someone else says
really... you know what you can do as far as production goes.. the fault is not with your production ( i'm willing to bet you're pretty good )
so.. what does that leave ?
raise your price
Make a story pole 1st thing. Adjust coarses so you have less cutting to do.
Bring everything you need up on the scaffold with you including electric saws. Use a gun don't hand nail unless they are face nailed.
Take me through your approach as it is now if you could
what type do you install most and how do you charge? By the bundle or box I hope not by the sqaure.

set up all pump jacks and scaffolding run all tarpaper & flashings up do all boxing soffit continuious vent and facia pump down while running all corner boards door and window trim then start running shakes. Shakes are run with a 6 " 13" line so no nails are exposed with a face tacked batton for the shakes to sit on (6') line. Almost all of our work is on pilings and starts at 8 to 10' off the ground But alot of it is done off of the decks
They are certainly not like asphalt shingles or tin sheets. Much more work is involved.
how many squares do you run on a typical wall with a door three windows 3tirty five feet long with corner boards? Would you use one man or two? Why?
