We are installing a cement tile roof (first one for us)and it is taking forever. The tiles that we are using are made to look like cedar shakes and once they are down we can’t walk on them because they break. The valleys are open and give us just enough room to negotiate measuring the angles on the ends of the rows while balancing on a narrow walk board. (I should mention that this is a 12 on 12 roof, all 90 squares of it.) Does anyone have some suggestions about how to speed things up?

Don , the only way to speed up that job is to hire more help . Cuting concrete roof tile is a pain even with a diamond blade . Just bid on straight gables . You should be able to walk on the lower 1/3 of the tiles don't step to close to the overlap , some are thicker then the one that laps over and leaves enough gap to crack it . 90 sq. should be enough practice . glad my tile are done. I used Lifetime concrete tile made in Senica Ill.
*Don, I was afraid that was the case. We'll keep plugging along and look forward to being glad we're done too! Thanks for the help.
