Any recommendations on how to make a clean transition between carpet and tile on a concrete floor. The carpet is already installed. In the past I have “lipped” the tile over the carpet about 1/4″. Looks OK but this is tight nap Berber style carpet and I dont think that would work here. I have also used Schluter edge but that was new construction. Any tips or tricks appreciated.

assuming the heights are the same or very close, I first make sure that the tile edge is very straight. Then I get the carpet layer to put down a length of " smooth edge " but keep it away from the tile just enough so that when the carpet is trimmed back, the excess can be tucked between the tile edge and the gap left to the "smooth edge".
*Why can't you use a transition strip of oak or metal?
*Bill:Schluter is a metal (or vinyl) edging material. Sorry about not being very descriptive. Anyway, it works well when the carpet installer is coming in after you and can lay to the tile edge. Having the installer come back is not out of the question, I was just trying to avoid it.
*Call the carpet guy back to double tack strip(stacked)at the tile.
