Has anyone found a decent electric chain saw sharpener, at a reasonable price? Used the Oregon and found it flimsy and poorly made. Couldn’t find a discussion in the messages.

I've found that the cordless kind, with the wooden handle, are more than satisfactory if you've got just a few minutes of extra time.
They'll even work without the handle.

A vice and a bench are nice too, or just cut it into a stump. I find it rather contemplative.

Oregon puts their name on several different sharpeners. I've got the most expensive one (currently about $350) and it is a great tool. It's well made and no method of sharpening can do as good a job as you can with this one.
I guess it depends on what you consider a "reasonable price" and what type of quality you want. It's like everything else, you get what you pay for!
We do a lot of sawing and it's worth it for us to have a good sharpener. We keep spare, sharp chains with us all the time.
I think I've tried about every way there is to sharpen chains, and for me, a good sharpening tool is worth the price.
Oregon used to make a pretty good jig sharpener that you clamped on to the bar and used a file. I don't like sharpening chains with files, but I used that contraption for years before popping for the big money!
I use the Dremel tool attachment, and it works well.
Thanks. The Oregon that was flimsy was the $195 one. I'll have to look into the dremel.
