I seem to remember seeing a little blurb somewhere in Taunton Press publication about a brush-on product that will react with something in wood and ‘age’ it practically overnight. Does anyone know about this product?

Baking soda and warm water.
*A mixture of lye and water (be careful!) will do this with maple as well. I remember that blurb too, but I can't remember where.

*Rock, for cedar; a "Bleaching Oil" will do the trick. Cabots makes one, it tints the wood with a grey pigment, followed by a 3 to 6 month aging for total grey-out.
*It's called instant age I think you can get it at woodcraftMat
