I need to make two drywall panels that butt against wooden framing structure on one side and at the top – the bottom will be covered with base and the other side a taped and mudded corner –
I don’t want to caulk/finish the drywall tight to the wood, just want a clean edge and nice fit –
so, what’s the technique/trick for finishing a cut edge of the drywall? Is there something I can wrap the edge with? –
not much drywall experience here, thanks for any suggestions –
D
I’ve already printed off all the D-mix info –

I prefer L ...
actually use the metal "face applied" L for plaster ... just lay it on ... as few fasteners as possible ... then hot mud it away.
or ... that tear away bead is pretty nice stuff for a clean "cut line" too.

Tape on L bead. There is an L bead that comes with the masking factory applied, to use when the finished product (wood) is already in place. Just rip off the mask after finishing http://www.trim-tex.com/catalog/lbeads.htm

Thanks for the link, much better than the D-200 from Baily's that I usually use.
thanks -
and to Buck and IMERC also -
is that Trim-Tex something you order or does the big boxes have it?
"there's enough for everyone"
There is a dealer search at http://trim-tex.com .
A good commercial drywall supply will have something similar. Home Depot usually has a tape on L thrown in with their tape on CB. The trim-tex stuff is a nice product, but is a nail on type. I prefer a tape on bead because if nailed on sloppily the L can appear wavy. Both work fine if installed correctly. Mike
