anyone care to discuss design of cold-climate re-roofs? Esp whether to frame out and blow in versus struct. foam panel, and whether or not to leave an airspace with vent? In my area many people have roof leaks due to very heavy snow accumulation, and despite ice/water shield.

Hey Stephen,
You're question's a bit unclear?
Are you re modeling an existing place or new?
Last winter was a phenomenal snow year. Many cave-ins. Lotsa ice damns and ponding. Two inches of ice ten feet up the roof, on a 5+ pitch. PIA.
Gotta keep the roof cold. Insulate the living space.
Vent the roof. Flash the eaves. Use membrane. Use a snow rake. Foams great, the polyiscoanureate(sp).
What's the job your scopin'?
