When having a dark brown stone facade layed up on the front of my
house a few years ago, the mason did not pigment the mortar with a
color that would have worked well with the brown stone. Instead
I got stuck with drab gray mortar in between the brown stone. In
fact, the lightness of the mortar is not even in all places.
Is there a good way of coloring the mortar after the fact in such a
way that looks good and not painted on?
