I want to do some concrete counter tops this winter and would like some ideas on setting up shop in my basement. I have 9″ ceilings and a large open area. It is also a walkout so getting the counter out shouldn’t be a problem. The problem is polishing the concrete, I need to get rid of the waste water and the”spoils”. I had a thought of a raised platform with plastic that tapers to a pit. In the pit there could be a piece of drain tile with filter sock, then I could pipe the drain tile to my sump and let it take care of it from there. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated.

why not just let it fall on floor , let dry then sweep up.
Get Mongo to email you his writeup on making concrete countertops. When you do one in a gloss formica mold, and use the right techniques for mix, placement, and vibration, you'll forget about polishing.
