When setting electrical outlets over countertop I neglected to provide allowance for increased thickness of a cast-in-place concrete countertop. Result is that a 4″ backsplash will kiss against duplex outlet cover.
Would a reduced height backsplash, say 3 or 3 1/2, look out of place? To conceal a 3/4 screed board the backsplashes will be 1″ thick.
Enough so it warrants opening the drywall up and moving all the outlets / switches (total of 6 boxes) up by 1 1/4″?
And repairing / repainting the drywall?

I think it will look fine...
I prefer low backsplashes.
I prefer FULL backsplashes.
I think 3 1/2" would work, but moving them to provide additional clearance may be the best value in the long run. .
We use full ceramic tile backsplashes with granite (see pic / so many options avaliable). I do not know how they would look with concrete.
i'd put extentions on my boxes and bring the backsplash above the boxes

I prefer no duplex receptacles in the wall above kitchen countertops, but rather continuous plugmold up under the wall cabinets.
We used to mount the plugmold facing straight out, but on the last job switched to a beveled block mount, which makes plugging in far easier. See the attached.
