I am putting in a length of sidewalk in backyard. Just under 2 yds, truck can’t get back to site & mix would have to be wheeled in and the min. delivery cost. Would it be a foolish thought to rent a mixer and try to keep up with the finishing to mix up ready mix bags & keep a contunious pour? The walk is to be approx. 60′ and 2 1/2′ wide.

Are you by yourself or do you have at least one helper?
If you've got a helper, it would be a piece of cake. Well, day old cake, anyway.
A gallon of retarder will let you do it by yourself.

yes it would be foolless, you will never meet the quality that a ready mix can provide. just hire about four temp help to handle wheel barrows. By mixes by hand it will cost about $120 a yard in supplies and still willcrack like crasy due to mix time.
I've gotten lazy with age and have no qualms about hiring a line pump for what you're doing. In my area, at least, it would cost you maybe an extra $120, but worth every cent, you won't spill a drop and you won't need much, if any, extra help.
Around here there's no line pump but two guys have booms. They could drop the mud on a job like that without any help... the guy on the job could screed and finish alone, easy.
Rent a buggy. Carries about 1/2 yard and rents for about? I don't know. I used one last spring after all of my help bailed on me. Friend owns a highway construction firm and loaned me one. Didn't tear up the lawn, controlled dumps, easy cleanup, no sore backs, and the pour was done in less than a hour for 8 yards being moved over 200 yards.
Was told to fill the tank when I was done and it took less than $1.00. If my help had showed it would of taken $100 for beer and lunch.
Now that I think of it, that buggy would be nice for hauling firewood this weekend, time for another call.
Around here we can rent 1 yard trailers. They are pretty small. Perhaps would fit back there. Also, cheapest way to buy anything less than 4 yards locally.
