Hey, everybody-
Any advice/experience with specific brands of concrete sealers? I have a new patio with exposed aggregate. Would prefer a relatively low-gloss product that is suitable for an environment that gets freezing temps and snow on occasion. Something that will help secure the aggregate and minimize dislodging would be desirable, too.
Also- how long do you let a slab cure before sealing it? I have heard many varying recommendations.
Thanks!

If you can, call a few local concrete supply houses, or supply houses that supply concrete forming products. they should be able to assist you.
nationally you might want to see if you can track down Burke and Ardex. they are two big concrete product companies that supply additives, etc.
hope that helps and use a roller and/or a deck/garden sprayer for application if you can, its an easier way to go.
Entex or maybe spelled Intex. Commercial grade sealer carried by masonry suppliers.
Speaking of sealers.Do concrete sealers help or hurt flooring adhesives if someone is going to lay a hardwood floor over concrete?
Good question. would need to check specs.

Of course it would depend on the type of sealer in the real world, but no manufacturer of flooring adhesive will give a blanket statement that it's ok. Since you are then installing outside of the manufacturers specs any warrantee issues are now firmly in your lap.

I just used a product called Saltgard. It's water based and easy to apply. There is no sheen. Look around in your area for a retailer that caters to concrete and masonary builders with supplies. I live in Pittsburgh and bought it from G L Wilson Co. Hope this helps!
