I have been participating recently on the Knots Forum, but I felt this was a much better venue for the following question.
At the direction of the boss (my wife) I have pulled up the linoleum in our kitchen. She has informed me that I will be providing her with a stained concrete flooring… And soon!
My question concerns the adhesive left over from the linoleum around the perimeter of the room. I would guess that I could remove the adhesive and etch the concrete at the same time with muriatic acid. However, our kitchen is such that it would not be very easy to ventilate the area sufficiently. Therefore, do I have another option for getting the adhesive up?
Thanks for your thoughts on this!

do not use the acid to etch the concrete , When it comes time for the staining it will have weaken the ability to react with the stain. there is a forum on concrete staining on the web cannot remember the address but you can get to it through http://www.descon.com. i stain my slab about a year ago
Brownbagg,
Thanks for the link, however, it does not seem to get me anywhere. I will keep looking.

Try here, and NO muriatic acid. If search works, removing the glue and mastic has been discussed about 100 times over the last few years. Joe H
