Conservation Technology attic stairs….

Hello all, I want to replace my sagging folding attic stairs, and I saw this company that makes an insulated unit that has weatherstripping and latches that lock it closed tight. Seems really well made, only prob is they list the rough opening for the unit at 221/2″ x 44. Most attic stair units I have put in and mine included are 221/2 by 54. Anybody have an experience or comments on these units?

Not sure I understand the problem. A bigger opening shouldn't be an issue -- only a smaller one.
Not familiar with the unit you describe.

The problem with it being smaller that the RO seemes easily solved by a 2x4 and a piece of sheetrock. Am I missing something here?

I've got the Midmade LUX unit you describe from Conservation Technology. No problem with the sizing being too small, if that's what your concern is.
I have one for my attic access. Nicely made, works fine, no problems.
