Take a look at SiteTrak (www.beacon-systems.com) for an easy to use, from a builders standpoint software that has better reports that are easier to access that QBPro. I’m switching because of the features they offer. Reviewed 1/99 in JLC by J Stoddard. He liked it. I’m not a salesman, just been looking for something better than what I had for my business. Custom building with some remodeling included. I think this is a good product.

I'm looking for recommendations before purchasing builders accounting software.Anybody have any recommendations pro or con. My business is high-end stuff with 300-400 entries per job in some 15 categories. I would appreciate any input. Thanks.
*Quckbooks or Quicken
*I second the motion.... except go for QuickBooks Pro, much better, works great for estimating if you set it up right. I've been using QB for 6 years, it's the best package for the price anywhere, and easy to use.
*Quickbooks Pro!!! MIGHT want to have an Excell spreadsheet for calculations not strictly accounting and that you want to link to the accounting package.
*Hi Ross;I have finally straightened out my items in QBPro. It was a nightmare but I am pretty happly with it for now1 QBPro is a good choice.John
*Hi John, Glad to hear you got it sorted out. Did you use those CSI codes for items? Anyone who thinks a 78 item CSI list would be useful for them, e-mail me and I'll send you a copy....
