Hi, my name is Lekan,
I am trying to build a continuos handrail with a volute for the first time.
1. Does anybody have a drawing/diagram of a volute I can use.
2. Where can I get one to buy.
3. Is there a reference to a Fine homebuilding article I can refer to.
Thanks
Lekan

First, how familiar are you with continuous handrail?
Is this a new installation or a retrofit?
Is the volute tread already installed or will you be doing that as well?
A picture is worth a thousand words. So here is a link to get you started

Yes, I agree, thank Gord for that! =)View Image “Good work costs much more than poor imitation or factory product” – Charles GreeneCaliforniaRemodelingContractor.com
This company makes the stair rail components that are used by many builders in my area. I would guess that one of the reasons that they are popular is a few of the biggest building supplies sell their stuff. Heck, I've even seen some of this stuff (in a generic sense) at Home Depot although if what you needed wasn't in stock I'm not sure I'd get into a special order situation with them - in cases like these it helps to deal with a salesmen who really knows the product.
