I’m thinking about going out on my own, finally working for myself. I know there are plenty of pitfalls. Any recommendations for a few good books that might help out getting a guy started in a small construction business? Thanks.

And i wuold recomend any and every book you can get your hands on for construction and business.Tou might find one that isnt best book to read but ive always been able to pull something good out of every one ive read.
Markup and Profit is a good one, Im not sure i would follow his words to a T. But it does kinda open your eyes to certain elements of running a business.
What aspect of construction are you getting into?
I third the book by Gerstel - I can't believe how much good advice is located in those pages - literally all you need to run a business the right way - and very little jargon. A truly great ready that's not a snooze fest.
