When deck posts exceed what the prescriptive code tables allow, it's time to consult a structural engineer for post sizing and possible bracing.

Are you talking about the caulking guns that attach to cordless drills ? I've never used one, but I saw one in the back of a friend's truck and asked him about it: he handed me his 14.4V Dewalt, told me to hold it straight out, and then hung a 3.3Kg plastic pail of compound on the nose. "There", he says, "now imagine standing like that for 2 hours at the top of a 32' ladder". I got the message.

i live in the uk and panasonic do one that takes a standard tube of caulk.
it seems to have a big threaded rod with a plunger on the end.
i've got one that runs on compressed air and its worse than useless so i was wondering if there was anyone who had any information.
