I am going to install cork flooring for the first time in a kitchen. Normally I install the new floor before the cabinets, but as cork might be softer should I install it after cabinets? I have installed a cement board sub base. Dave

When installing ceramic, the suggestion is to do it before cab installation because you have fewer cuts and don't have to deal with height issues later when you change out a dishwasher, etc.
Cork ( this is for glue down, not floating snap together ) is thin enough that changing out DW is not a problem and it's incredibly easy to cut and shape.
I have found that it's easier to glue down to plywood underlayment than cbu. CBU is hard to free competely from dust and grit that prevent good glue adhesion.
Your underlayment should be VERY smooth, because any little bump and bimp will transmit through the cork. AC ply is good. I think it would be hard to achieve that degree of smoothness with cbu.
