Thought I would update my progress in my basement remodel.
My last post on this was after I had removed paneling and found a leaky cleanout fitting in the 3 inch ABS stack.

After that post, I decided to remove the framing that was cut-nailed into the CMU exterior basement wall, so I added some threaded rod I had laying around to hold up the pipe.

The block wall needed some help so I pulled of the framing which was ripped 2x, and used a grinder with a metal diamond blade to cut the nails that did not come out with the wood.
I patched up and coated the block wall with fiber reinforced cement. The local big box stores supply was mostly bags of hardened, and I ended up with a couple different colors.
I put an inch and a half of XPS along the wall, followed by a stud wall to hold some rock wool.
The bulkhead was extended to make room for an expansion tank required to go with a water pressure regulator. the overnight water pressure went to 120 PSI. I am pleased at how quiet the fixtures are at 50 PSI.
Would you please post a picture of the not so “neat” part.
That way to clean for a demo.
I have the luxury of working at my own pace, so try to pick things up before they get too out of control. Don't want to fix this up and end up in the hospital because I tripped over some extra stuff laying around.
I left all my sites like that. Imposition on a customer is enough during a remodel. No need to remind them overnight.
I want a pic of the 3/4 day, you know before you mop the floor.
Which I used to do lightly when called for b/4 going home. Especially on a concrete floor.....a basement for example. Anywhere that was to be left “broom clean”.
Living areas, ram board, cardboard, or paper taped down on hardwood or tile, drops over.....pulled, shook and folded.
And always thinking of customer safety. No way ladders left up and open.
I don’t think I left anybody pissed.
Remodelers that save time ( $ to them ) give the trade a bad name.
There is also some selective framing in the pictures.
I am working my way around the basement, so there is still too much stuff there, some unrelated to the remodel.
Imagine that, too much stuff in the basement.
That’s more like it.
It what I saw many times when asked to look at the job.....
