Covering a Concrete Front Porch w/ Cedar
I have a house we are rehabbing which has an ugly concrete front porch. It’s in great shape, but has no curb appeal. There is one porch post in the corner and a roof covering it.
My idea was to cover the porch in cedar decking, and add a couple sides with cedar posts/rails/stiles tied into the current post.
Has anyone done anything similar? What might be the best way to accomplish this, and what drainage concerns might I have?
I thought about nailing/screwing, say pressure treated 1x4s, to the concrete and then screwing the decking down to these to allow for drainage and easy attachment of the cedar.
Your ideas are much appreciated.

1x4s wont give the screws much bite. If room allows go bigger to 2x4s for sleepers. Mke sure to give enough ventilation to underside to keep sleepers dry.
