I did post this same question over at Knots, but I never seem to get quick answers there. Either way, here goes.
Recently purchased a new bedroom set (I know, I should have built it myself. My plate is too full right now)
All of the drawer boxes are made from cedar. Which in most cases is great. But I have a few drawers that will hold books and other like items. I don’t want them to smell like cedar. Can I put a coat of shellac on to seal in the smell?
Any advice would be great.

I've successfully used shellac to seal "musty" smelling wood, as well as cat #### smell (long story). I'm thinking it would work, but it won't do anything for the next drawer over.

There's two drawers in the nightstand, if I get them both, there won't be a "next drawer over". thanks for the input.
anyone else disagree with shellac or is there a more effective or easier product?
Don't be hard on yourself for not DIY-ing something. There's loads of stuff I could do, but am well aware I'll never get to doing.
