If you're talking about Flex-C track, we use it all the time on commercial jobs, and it works like a charm. Should work just as well with wood studs.
Bob
GT,
I had to frame a 14' 4" diameter wall, the pitch on the rafters was 21/12 and we had 5 windows 1 door and 1 door opening and 1 shelf opening.
As Bob said the company called FLEX-C-TRAC by FLEX-ABILITY CONCEPTS they make a track that can curve to any radius or shape they come 2-1/2" - 3-5/8" - 6".
At the time I was framing this they told me it really was good to use for rafters to sit on. Or did they even have anything for headers.
I made all my headers for the small windows out of double 2x8, the bigger ones we used 5-1/2" x 9-1/2" microlams just scribed the radius on top and bottom then shaved the microlam to fit.
Since then FLEX-C TRAC has come out a with FLEX-C HEADER they come in 3-5/8" x 11-3/8" & 6" x 11-3/8".
There 2x4s & 2x6s verticle inside of 20 gage steel with the top and bottom flexc track.
The company mailed me a sample they give you the Design Load Tables Ex:
6" x 11-3/8"
Clear Span (ft) 2.5
Point Load (lbs) 3125
Uniform Load (plf) 2500
3-5/8" x 11-3/8"
Clear Span (ft) 2.5
Point Load (lbs) 2920
Uniform Load(plf) 2336
Has anyone used these headers befor?
It sure would make it alot easier to frame.
If you call David L Younge he'll send you a sample with about 20" of a 3-5/8" track.

Joe,
When I went to JLC Live! I got all their product info. They sent me the sample. I haven't done any round framing, but if I get the chance I think I will use this product.
Tim,
At the JLC Live, did they have the header sample there?
Next round room I do I want to use that.
I didn't pay enough attention, but I think they did. The info I was given on the header made it seem to me like it would be stupid not to use their header if the header is going to be covered up. Let me know what you think of it when you get to use it.
