We are in the process of building a house and although I like the look of wood windows, I don’t want the upkeep. Some of the manufacturers in this area are selling vinyl windows with a factory painted dark exterior. This will give us the exterior look we are after but i am concerned about expansion and warping of the dark vinyl. The salesperson I spoke with today stated that they have been providing this product for 10 years with no call-backs. Has anyone had any experience with dark colored vinyl windows.
Thanks in advance

to date they seem to be doing fine...
5 years or so....
the vynal was that color.. not painted...
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming
WOW!!! What a Ride!
I've used Andersen's Terratone, which is a dark grayish brown and not had any trouble over many years. The vinyl is formed over a wooden core. I can't say that less expensive windows or hollow plastic wouldn't be more susceptible to trouble.
Ditto:
My Andersen's Terratone's are 16 years old and still look great! (brown vinyl, not paint)
Thanks for the feedback, the windows I'm looking at are hollow core and the salesperson said that they have added extra vent holes in the vinyl to prevent heat build up in the extrusion. I'll also check out the Andersonm Windows and get a price.
