De Walt DNT 735 stopped working

The cutter blades stopped. I removed the side plate. A gear would turn on cut one but not two. The thinness Guage is stopped at the bottom. When I removed the top plate ed the motor shuts off. Any ideas for fixes? Nothing precipitated this except for sitting a few months.

    Please specify your model again. I am assuming you are referring to model DW735. A planer. Is this correct?
