Had an unfortunate opportunity to open up the wall behind some sink traps. Before I patch, please share your best way of deadening the sound of water draining from the trap into the tailpipe behind the drywall. It appears this is where the most noise is coming from. The trap and drain lines are black PVC.

I once bought a box of sound deadening material designed for sealing the backs of electrical boxes. It was in the form of 'clay' sheets, about 1/8" thick and 8" x 8". It was very pliable and could be molded around stuff. We did all the electrical boxes and then wrapped as much of the pipe as we could get to, and it worked well. Fiberglass insulation doesn't do much for sound. You need mass to deaden. And make sure that the pipe is not in contact with the wood framing anywhere. If it is, move it away and re-strap it.
