I’m having a lot of trouble making contact at differnet times of the day. Sometimes it’s reasonably timely, other times I have to give up because it dies trying to make contact. It’s not my end, are you getting better servers?
2d point: A lot of threads I’m following just disappear. I go searching for them and find them in SYSOP heaven. They have posts as recent as 24 hours, so why are they taken off the list. ????

Mike, yesterday the board was increasingly sloggy, and the whole site was down for a while in the late afternoon. Don't know why recent posts are disappearing from view; we are very sparing in our use of the delete key, except for duplicate posts to which no one has replied and blatant advertising. Can you send me some examples ([email protected])? Is anyone else having this problem?

*Dear SysopRuth: Thanks, the next time a thread bugs out on me I'll drop a dime on you.
*Dear Sysop: I switched to a new ISP, this one is a cable modem, and when the traffic is light it is blazing. But for the last three or four days, I just can't get thru at night. Tonight it took 9 minutes to make this connection so I could complain to you. Is this going to get better or what, I also note that increasingly, the same questions are asked again and again, and they also post the same questions to the Journal of Light Construction, so the same, I DO MEAN SAME, question gets asked and answered about four times. What a waste of a good site.b mumble, mumble......mumble
*Hey MikeThings are slow and slower for me too.re: the same questions over and over. . . boy is that an understatement, and it's why I mostly hang out in the tavern now, but I've noticed that the newcomers to the board tend to thrash around the questions that are new to them...if an older regular gets there first the questioner tends to get referred to the archives.Back in the "good old days" (last year?) most participants were tradesman, not DIY's etc, so fewer questions, more debates, fewer posts overall, less boredum. This board is a victim of success I guess, or promotion.-pm
*Dear SYSOP:WOW ! did you plug this into the 220 line. it's really zipping tonite.
*Could you post a general response to everyone, say in the Woodshed, about what is going on .....When the site finally came back up on Monday I posted a few things and then they disappeared......Now it's been back up a few days and everythig is so slow it 's more exciting watching grass grow..What gives.any plans for improvement...I thot you were going to use the down time to improve the site,,instead it comes back online thoroughly degraded....b mumble...mumble....mumble
*Ever since Sean left, they seem to be ignoring us. . . I think he used to enjoy reading the board, so was hip to what was not working from a users pov. . . the new bunch are either straight techies or overworked or both. ..frightening!!!A victim of it's own success, and I guess there not willing to keep up the equipment to meet with demand!! From a purely cynical point of view, they get what they want from it no matter how frustrsating it is for us to use.mumble mumble.. . -pm
*Patrick,Yeah, "they get what they want", but only until someone else comes up with a better board....Survival of the fittest!Capitalism!Rich Beckman
*the whole look and feel changed from noon today to when i came back on...all the petefest pics i posted are gone.. and the picture essay luka did on his trailer is gone...the grand kid's pics are gone....if we aren't supposed to post pics.. just say so..but what 's up with the latest bruhaha ?
