NC Building code question:
Are you required to use double hot tipped galvanized bolts for a deck ledger board, or can I use single diped galvanized or zinc plated?
I’m having trouble locating 7″ and 11″ x 5/8″ double hot dipped galvanized bolts.

Silicone caulk has its advantages, especially in certain applications, but other sealants are often better choices.

Don't use them at all. Try McFeeleys or Manasquan Premium Fasteners for stainless hardware. Over the life of the project the cost differential in negligible.
