There was a Fine Homebuilding article (maybe a year ago) that had a great diagram of how to put a fireplace on a deck. I have started flipping through my old magazines, but I can’t seem to find it. Does somebody happen to remember what month that was or have a way to search for it?

I really appreciate the reply! I believe it was just a hand-drawn diagram and perhaps a description. I don’t think it was more than one page. Much of the new construction in my area is putting fireplaces on covered decks. They put them directly on top of the pressure treated deck boards.
The diagram showed several layers of underlayment that was separate from the deck boards. I was trying to describe it, but the picture would be so much easier!
Again thank you for the effort. I may just sit down and flip through the past year or two.
