The time has come to purchase a spa for the deck I built last year. It is 16×25′ and the area where the spa will be located is built as described from the ground up; 4-4×6 posts resting on 12″ concrete piers well below the frost line. Two 4x10x12 beams spanning 9′ support the 2×10 joists spanning 8′, 12″ o.c. The joists rest on the beams are cantalevered which are supported at the end by 4×4 posts,2×12’s and hangers. 5/4 decking finishes the deck floor. I was originally planning on a 4 adult 235 gal. spa weighing 2600lbs. when full. Now we have reconsidered a 375 gal. 5-6 person spa at 3600lbs. Do I have enough support? Can I handle this weight. Have I provided enough details on construction?. Kev.
