   what do you have to put on a white pine wooden deck that is stained a oak color. i need a clear sealer that will protect and shine through traffic and weather. the porch is covered .i've tried sherwin williams they said the sealer would crack because the wood is soft.

   Consumer Reports had an article about deck treatments in their 6/99 edition. Consumer reports is not my favorite publication, but go to a library and read the info. It is pretty informative.
