I am helping a friend who has a serious water problem in his crawlspace. We are fixing drainage and grade problems that keep it wet, however I want to dry it out and keep it dry as mush as possible. There is already fairly extensive rot along the exterior band and mudsill where condensation keeps the wood wet constantly.
I want to install a dehumidifier to dry it out so we can repair the bad framing. The dehumidifier would drain into sump pit with a pump. Can anyone recommend a unit that is “designed” for a crawlspace application?
Also, I came across a product called HumiVent 2000,

Does anyone have experience with this system? It seems to be just an exhuast fan that pulls humid air from the crawlspace. Does it work?
Any input is appreciated.
