Ok, the Dewalt 36v stuff has been out for a while now, and I’d like to know for those of you that own it, what is your opinion of it.
I do remodelling on nights and weekends, but most of my work more or less forces me to use cordless tools. It’s not that I don’t like corded tools, just easier to grab my paslode trim gun versus the compressor, hose and air gun if you can see where I’m coming from.
I bought the 36v stuff when it first came out, so I have the circ. saw, the recip. saw, and the drill. I’m really not too keen on using the drill on a day to day basis although it does have the power. Just a bit too bulky to be driving a ton of deck screws with. The circular saw I am in love with. First time I used it I ripped over 80 linear feet of salt-treated 2x material before the battery started going out. The recip. saw is nice too if you need to do a lot of work.
I guess the thing I like the most is the length of time that the batteries last compared to the 18v stuff. What I don’t like is that you can almost get 4 18v batteries (if you shop around) for the price of one 36v.
Opinions, comments, etc. are appreciated.
