I have a couple of light fixtures that very rarely get used. They happen to be controlled by a dimmer switch. The fixtures, the switch, and the wiring are all less than 1 year old.
I switched the lights on recently for the first time in several (3, 4?) months, and noticed that they flickered slightly for the first 30 seconds or so and then functioned normally thereafter.
Is it normal (or at least nothing to be concerned about) when lights controlled by a dimmer flicker a bit after a long period of inactivity?
TIA.

Are these incandescent or flourescent? If incandescent, try running the dimmer up and down quickly a few times to clean out the potentiometer. If flourescent, be grateful that dimming works at all.

Thanks John!
These are in fact incandescent. I'll give your suggestion a try.
Thanks again!
