I did it, although many of you scoffed at the idea, it’s completed and passed inspection with flying colors. A couple of years ago I asked for info on installing my own furnace and ductwork. Well I did my homework and downloaded HVAC-Calc to do all the calculations for me. I highly recommend it, although the tricky part is taking the duct dimensions it gives you and converting them to standard stock sizes. I bought the furnace through a friend of mine and he helped me get started. The house is a quad level which made running the ductwork difficult. The system is up and running with no whistling, duct banging, cold spots or hot spots (except for the master bath – it’s what the wife wanted). The inspector has come and gone and now it’s time for insulation and drywall. If anyone needs help, send me an E-mail, I have a ton of info and it’s really very simple.

I liked your post. Sure would appreciate the web site for HAVC-Calc. and amy othe rweb sites that you found useful. Thanks so much for any info you can send on the internet.
Hi
Glad to hear about your success. I have a similar situation, except its only a two story house. Can you give us the web address of this calculator program. That would be a huge benefit. Thanks a bunch.

The inspector was checking for code compliance not functionality.
If you are pleased, we are pleased.
Congrats!
HVAC Calc is a good program.
