And do you know where I can find some?Yes I know that you can use plain old wax,but I’m referring to a product I used when I framed alot that was available then at the local board store, worked great–now no one knows what I’m talking about. Can you help?
Thanks,

how bout "Doorease", comes in a metal tube, at autoparts store. Not silglide, thats thinner.
*You mean like "Orange Wax" ? I think you can still get it. Orange Wax is specifically blended for the food industry, dries very hard, and is certified as non-toxic - we used to use it on axe handles.
*Sorry man, thought you wanted the wax Orlo shoves up the hole of the handle for lube and you probably want a wax for gripshun. My apologies.
*Sticky grip wax? Surfboard wax oughta work. No board shops in your 'hood? Joe H
*Do a google search for "Sex Wax" it's a brand name traction wax for surfboards and wind surfers and it works GREAT!
*No problem, calvin, thanks for responding...the wax I'm looking for helps you keep from beaning your pardner when the hammer slips out of your hand....my 13 year old is still convinced that gripshun is a real word!:)jw
*Thanks for the help,gang...the wax I remember was a green color and had a scent to it,it came wrapped in plastic and was about the size of half a margarine stick. Most of us in those days used 32 oz Vaughns and we would keep the handles waxed up for gripshun and I think this product may have also had something in it good for your hands as well...anyway, I moved from that area and have not seen that stuff in a long time. Still need some once in a while even tho my 32has been retired. The only boards near me would be of the snow variety...wonder if that kinda wax would work? Thanks again--jw
*Nope. Cross-country ski wax should, though.
*Cross country ski wax and sex wax are way differant stuff. one is for grip and one for slip. Handle wax is differant again. I haven't seen that stuff since I was working as a laborer about 200 years ago... back when most boards were still cut with hand saws....
