Hi – We’re owner/building our third home and would like flooring suggestions. We’ve had hardwood, but because we also have a big dog, the surface scratched and was a bit of a pain to clean (hair balls and dirt on an oiled surface). Another house we did had laminate flooring and was great for being easy to clean and not scratched by dog traffic. The down side was the sound made walking on it. Somehow it didn’t fit with the timber frame feel of the house. Now we’re doing a log house with maybe maple hardwood if we can find an easy to clean, scratch resistant finish for the floor. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
