Got all the old brick removed. New windows and replacement brick on the way. After the new brick is installed, I’ll need to provide for hose bibs, exterior receptacles, meter base, tubing for the split heat pump, etc. Is there a “preferred” way to plan for these installations when dealing with brick veneer?
For instance, I’ve been told that most AC contractors just tell the masons to place a length of PVC through the brick where the heat pump will be located to provide for the plumbing. I’d sure hate to spend so much on rebricking and then have to detail it with a tacky setup like that. Is there a better way, or am I just being too much of a perfectionist?
Thanks,
Michael
PS. Any recommendations on vents or crawlspace doors?
New knowledge is priceless.
Used knowledge is even more valuable.

Mike ,The crawl space vents will either have a flange that will fit on the outside of the brickopening, or if its like the last ones I did last summer they had no flange just attached with mas. screws into the existing openings then I mortared around the openings- get the flanged ones of you can-- The openings for the ac. units , I use a dryer vent hood as I hate to see naked cable, copper line entering a opening also, I don,t see why they couldn't use a large enough elec. conduit. but then again I,m not a a.c. guy
