Has anyone used dryvit? I would like to use something other than drywall for my upstairs. Any information would be appreciated.

Dryvit is a particular brand of EIFS, which is Exterior Insulation and Finish System. I've never seen it used inside, but I guess you could. Maybe you'd be the first!

Could you be thinking of Decorative Interior Finish System?

Thanks for the info, I thought that this product was an alternative to drywall. I thought I had read something a few years back about a product that was inpart recycled material (paper) that could be used inplace of drywall but was much tougher. If anyone can recall a product like that please let me know.
Thanks again, Turtle boy.
You are right, there were several diffent products but I do not believe any of them have survied. Hometime use one and as I remeber you had to cut it with a saw and caulk all of the joints (joint compond and tape did not work). I think it was made out of saw dust.
