Sometime in the spring I will be drywalling the second story that I’ve added to the house. It’s (100)+/- 12′ sheets of drywall, so it’s significant. We will be pulling the drywall through a second story window. However, I’d like to replace the upper section of my driveway in the next few of weeks. I’m trying to figure out just how far a boom truck can reach with 12′ drywall to determine how far I can take the concrete. The ideal point would put the back wheels of the boom truck 18′ from the plane of the windows we will be pulling through. The windows are about 15′ off the ground. Does this sound doable for a boom truck?
Thanks -MERC

No problem! Just loaded a 2nd story addition and the boom went on the lawn and boomed over the electrical wire to the house. They can reach up to 30 feet at least. Best thing to do is to call the drywall supplier and have it looked at and have him tell you.

Could be. I've seen the Altex truck locally do that "nose" in. That's putting the center of the boom pivot closer in, which may help. too.
Probably depends on the truck and the boom, and the boomer.
Ask the drywall supplier(s).
Some trucks have the boom at the front of the bed, some at the back. Your best bet is to find out what your local guys can do.
