Am I expecting too much from a drywall contractor? In a remodel, there were a number of areas where the drywall was not furred out enough and the door and window jambs are up to 1/4-inch higher than the jambs. I had to feather this out with mud so that the casing will sit reasonably flush. Also, there are a couple of areas where the drywall is 3/16-inch proud of the jambs. What do I do here? Beat it down and skim coat it? Any advice would be appreciated.
