My current project is running behind, as usual and I don’t anticipate moving in until sometime next spring.
Since we won’t move until next spring, I am wondering if I can hang all of the drywall during the winter without heating the house. I would not mud/finish it until the spring.
With the projected price of fuel this winter, I am looking to avoid 4-5 months of heating bills.
Thanks
Ron

Ron,
Thinking that the house wouldn't dry out fully without the heat on in the winter. You may postpone shrinkage cracks until next winter. Where is this house located and when was it dried in? And if you're using temp heat this fall, like propane or kerosene, those babies put alot of moisture into the air. Just some thoughts.
*Don't know where you live so there may be something peculiar about your area that would go against the idea. But, I've seen this done routinely with no harm at all. If you can get the mud dry before allowing the building to go cold you can even let it sit finished.
